Julian Sheppard – Wildlife & Conservation

Julian has worked in countryside management and wildlife conservation for thirty years. He started work as Countryside Ranger for Hampshire County Council in 2012 and is responsible for 11 sites in the New Forest National Park – Lymington-Keyhaven Nature Reserve being the largest and highest profile.

From a long career working and volunteering in the conservation field he has wide-ranging experience of helping to improve access to the countryside for a broad variety of user groups and people of all ages, abilities and ethnic backgrounds.

Julian is also Chair of Hampshire County Council’s Rangers Forum. This role involves unifying ranger teams and sharing good practice, then representing Rangers interests and concerns at senior manager meetings.
